Hobika Inducted Into Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame



SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Luke Hobika, of DeWitt, was inducted into the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame on Monday, November 11th in a ceremony held at the Oncenter in downtown Syracuse.


Hobika was recognized for his decades of amateur golf success at the local and state levels. The 56-year-old's long list of accomplishments includes:


  • NYS Mid-Amateur - 2x Champion (1998, 2015)

  • AIM (Formerly Post-Standard) - 5x Champion ('98, '00, '02, '03, '16)

  • Gerry Ashe Memorial - 2x Champion ('11, '14)

  • SDGA Amateur Champion - 2009

  • SDGA Player of the Year - 1998

  • SDGA Senior Player of the Year - 2023, 2024

  • AIM Senior - 2x Champion (2023, 2024)

  • Emmet Kelly Masters Champion


Hobika was previously inducted into the Syracuse District Golf Association Hall of Fame in 2022.


Founded in 1987, the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame pays tribute to the men and women whose achievements in the world of sports have made Syracuse synonymous with athletic success, and have brought special honor to our community.
